Q.
It seems like you have a lot of energy, can I still
play D-UNIT if I don't have all that energy?
A. Yes, anyone can study
these defensive techniques and learn how to play on the ball
D, without having a lot of energy.
Q.
When my man is dribbling the ball and then he picks
it up, what should I do next?
A. It's called smother
the ball! Form a x with your arms and follow where ever he
or she is trying to pass. I'll show you in the video.
Q.
You talk about Denying the ball a lot, why is that
so important?
A. Well that question
is easy, if your man can't get the ball then your man can't
score...(lol)
Q.
Ok, you shut Kobe Bryant down, so why didn't you go
pro?
A. To be honest with
you I wasn't that skillful on offense, but, I did have the
defense and college coaches usually overlook defensive players.
They look for offense.
Q.
If the person I'm guarding is quicker than me, should
I play the in-your-face D-UNIT defense on them?
A. No. Defensive players
have to be smart. You have to realize that if your opponent
is quicker, then you have to give them extra room (6' apart).
Sometimes you have to lower your pride and give respect to
the offense if they are faster. Give them room.
