Frequently Asked Questions

It seems like you have a lot of energy, can I still play D-UNIT if I don't have all that energy?
Yes, anyone can study these defensive techniques and learn how to play on the ball D, without having a lot of energy.

When my opponent is dribbling the ball and then picks it up, what should I do next?
It's called smother the ball! Form a x with your arms and follow where ever he or she is trying to pass. I'll show you in the video.

You talk about denying the ball a lot, why is that so important?
Well that question is easy, if your opponent can't get the ball then your opponent can't score..

Ok, you shut Kobe Bryant down, so why didn't you go pro?
To be honest with you I wasn't that skillful on offense, but, I did have the defense of a pro player.

If the person I'm guarding is quicker than me, should I play the in-your-face D-UNIT defense on them?
No. Defensive players have to be smart. You have to realize that if your opponent is quicker, then you have to give them extra room (6' apart). Sometimes you have to lower your pride and give respect to the offense if they are faster. Give them room.
